6 degrees of seperation

are you a committer or a member of a large OSS project?

do you participate in any other large open source project?

I’m trying to get a understanding of how all the different major oss projects are being cross pollinated by having people participating in different projects.

feel free to comment, or mail me directly at ian at holsman.net

Thanks!

Well, what did you call large OSS project ;).

Usually the process of commiting for more than one large project is limited to specific area that you are good in. For example if you are very good in MySQL ;)) you can make modules for many projects based on your skills.

    Bogo

Hi Bogomil. What I was meaning was if you had commit access to MySQL and say PHP, or a Apache project

Hi Ian, Finally i understand :) No I have no comit access to those projects.

In my expirence I have found that people do a lot of basic “shallow” work for a lot of projects or dig deep into just a few.

Wouldn’t it be great to see a “arround me” for OSS just to see how it maps out?
