MySQL books - what would you recommend

It’s been a long time since I bought a book about mysql, so I thought I would ask what were some of the recent good books around about mysql.

The only good book I know is ‘high performance mysql’, but it is from 2004. so I’m concerned it’s a bit dated.

So.. what’s on your bookshelves?

I have another “dated” book recommendation. Actually its not even all that focused on MySQL:

SQL Performance Tuning by Peter Gulutzan,Trudy Pelzer

It will teach you a ton about database in general.

Oh and Dan Tow’s “SQL Tuning” is also a very good book, if you are willing to accept his slightly too big ego. His join visualization method makes a lot of sense.

Thx. I’ll take a look at them.

I bought my only MySQL book years and years ago (O’Reilly’s msql & MySQL title), and have since used the reference manual from mysql.com. I think O’Reilly publishes that in dead-tree form as well. I guess my personal MySQL needs have been fairly limited so far.
