What they need the most in the short term is someone who could do customer support between 3am and 11am, London time, so someone in Australia would be perfect
Do you happen to know anyone who might be interested in the job?
Ideally it would be someone who’s familiar with web technologies (web, DNS, e-mail servers), linux and maybe some web frameworks (Django, Rails,. ..).
The candidate would be doing customer support (answering tickets) but if they’re interested they could also do sysadmin work or even development work.
see the webfaction job page for more details

Just attempted to pick up my car from it’s 2 year/30k service.
After having to wait an hour and it still wasn’t ready i got told I need new tyres and brakepads ..
the sound you are now hearing is the sound of $2600 being flushed down the toilet.
BTW.. I can save $500 on the tyres (same brand/model) but NOT getting them from the dealer, I’m still looking for another company to replace the brakepads.. any local Melbournians have any recommendations?

Does anyone out there know if the DECT-USB dongle will work with any DECT enabled phone?
See: Skype + LinkSys announce a cordless phone for more info about everything

Ok lazyweb.. let me try this again..
I’m looking for a catchy phrase to help promote our internal sysadmin, ops & networking group. (for a large website)
stuff like
- “… the people behind the curtain”
-
“…. we keep the pages turning”
or
-
”.. we’re exicted about bits & bytes, even if you’re not.”
so..
any thoughts?

I thought I was good at maths, but this one is stumping me.
My Marketing lecturer gave us 9 questions. 4 of which will apear on the final exam this Monday.
I will need to answer 2 of these 4 questions.
What is the minimum number of questions I need to study so I will have a 100% certainty of covering those 2 questions?
yes.. I also think it is VERY strange that you get the questions before the exam. It is kind of testing how good my googling is not my marketing.
TIA
Ian
