according to thinksecret people in Germany might be able to get an iphone without the 2 year contract. (as it isn’t legal to sell a phone on a contract over there apparently).
Sadly I think the end result will be that the phone will either be withdrawn from Germany altogether, or some kind of technical lock where only people with german sim cards will be able to use the phone.
